Day 1 of 2012 January 1, 2012

Filed under: De todo un poco — chiquitura @ 1:14 pm

Is unbelievable! Today is the first day of  year. Where is the hours going?

We said goodbye to 2011, and welcome 2012 with our kids and Kevin’s family. We had a great time.

For me it is always a bittersweet moment when the last and first day of each year meet. It makes me so sad to look back and know all the time I wasted. Always making excuses for what reasons I didn’t do the things I wanted to do for God, things for or with my kids, husband, for myself, and no to mention friends. I don’t want another wasted year. I never make new years resolutions because Im afraid I will fell and not accomplish any of my goals. This year I want to make priority to do many things that will impact my life  and my family’s lives. So I made my self a short list of a few things I want to accomplish this year but preferred to get it done in the next month or so.

  • The main thing I want to make sure I do; is live my life for God. Surrender completely to Him and make Him the center and main focus of my life.
  • I want my kids to fall in love with our Savior. I need to make sure they spend time reading and knowing the Bible.
  • Invest more time in the church.
  • Have more family time.
  • Blog more; at least 3 times a week. ( ;) )

I need to keep my self on check with this first 5 items. Is not much and is only what God commands us to do. (But I struggle with it) At least the blogging is getting done.

It feels good to be back.

Happy 2012 to everybody.

“Soccer Mom” March 12, 2011

Filed under: De todo un poco — chiquitura @ 11:26 am

Im on my way to coach Alex’s soccer game and rapidly this phrase came to mind; I have become “Soccer mom”

But what is a soccer mom? Well, according to  Wikipedia this is the definition;

The phrase soccer mom generally refers to a married middle-class woman who lives in the suburbs and has school age children.[1][2] She is sometimes portrayed in the media as busy or overburdened and driving a minivan.[1][3] She is also portrayed as putting the interests of her family, and most importantly her children, ahead of her own.[1]

Never thought that I will be in this position, and here I am.  SCARY :0

Never say never…

Flu March 6, 2011

Filed under: De todo un poco — chiquitura @ 2:39 pm

I can’t believed we are on week 3 with the flu virus living at home with us. Not only type B (regular flu) now type A (different type of the flu)
Apparently my poor daughter has been exposed to it at school and brought it with her and pass it to Alex and I. So far Arianna is the only one that got slam with both, I just pray that ends there and she gets time to heal and be ready for her trip to the nations capitol.
But what bothers me the most is the fact
that school did not bother to inform anyone about the viruses been spread though out the school. I learn that a minimum of 5 kids and 1 teacher had been out of school prior to my daughter getting sick. I think this is a good number for the school to consider sending some type of awareness to parents.
Good think everyone is well and ready to roll  :) .

Filed under: De todo un poco — chiquitura @ 5:33 pm

Everyone I know always stars a new year health resolution in January.

NOT ME; is so hard!!!!!

After all those goodies from the holidays; forget it.

For me, the holiday season starts in Halloween and is over Dia de Reyes (Jan 6th)  and is so hart to brake thru.

So I created a month to month resolution.

Of course there is not such a thing!!! Specially with my friends.

We have at lease one thing to celebrate each month.

Yesterday was Albita’s Birthday.

Feliz Cumpleanos Albita!

But just see for your self and you’ll know what Im talking a bout.

Queso "Brie" fundido con cebolla acaramelizada y pan tostado

This was one of the dishes that she made, and my favorite. :)

Oh! I can’t forget about the delicious authentic Spanish Sangria, my good friend made for me, in this special occasions.

Sangria

Also the rosquitas de queso con jamon, el Fondue de queso con palitos de ajonjoli,

y la ensalade de frijoles con mango. yum, yum, yum.

(pics not available)

Lets not forget about the cake

Familia Paricio

Todo super esquisito.

All this recipes and more will be posted in my new category “WHAT’S COOKING”

The best I can do is to try to diet and exercise  between events and get ready for the next one.

Good Times

NewSpring Church four campuses including; Anderson, Greenville, Florence, and Columbia, fill the Bi-Lo Center for a tenth anniversary service on Sunday, January 24, 2010.

The feeling was overwhelming.

Can’t belived I had been a part of this movement

And to top it up I started a Great bible study

Let the truth that “The Word became flesh” resonate inside you today. If you ever question your worth, remember that “The Word became flesh” to die for you. If you ever question God’s acceptance or love for you, remember “The Word became flesh” to save you from your sin. If you ever wonder if God cares about what is weighing you down, remember “The Word became flesh” to give you eternal, abundant life today.

I always struggle with accountability, and this is a great way to keep my self a little more focus. The explanation of the study is awesome NewSpring without a doubt is a great Church.

I look forward many years of fellowship and learning @ NewSpring.
